It is very important to understand how our homes are tested to meet the ENERGY STAR Standards.

1.  We have a rater come in and physically examine and complete an Insulation inspection.  IF we were not doing ENERGY STAR…. that is not needed.

2.  Our HVAC contractor must be ENERGY STAR Certified – 2 Sets of inspections (1 for the HVAC Company and 1 for the Rater)

3.  After the home is completed, it undergoes many test – including a Blower Door test.  If it reads too high than we have an excessive amount of air leakage.  Which in turn means that your heat and air conditioning is escaping your home.  We guarantee your new home will meet all of the strict requirements established by ENERGY STAR.
